1107 Manhattan Avenue
Olivier Mosset, Amy Granat, Chuck Nanney, Jacob Kassay, Virginia Overton and Steven Parrino
16 September – 28 October, 2011

Exhibition

Opening Reception Friday, September 16, 2011 6-8 p.m.

"The forms are radical in memory or by way of continuing the once radical, through extension of its history. The avant-garde leaves a wake and, through mannerist force, continues forward. Even on the run, we sometimes look over our shoulder, approaching art with intuition rather than strategy. Art of this kind is more cult than culture."
-Steven Parrino

Spencer Brownstone Gallery is pleased to announce, 1107 Manhattan Avenue, an exhibition of work by Olivier Mosset, Amy Granat, Chuck Nanney, Jacob Kassay, Virginia Overton and Steven Parrino. First leased by Steven Parrino more than two decades ago, 1107 Manhattan Avenue is a studio in Brooklyn that has housed a number of artists throughout the years. 1107 Manhattan Avenue is an intimate look into the work of its current tenants, the influence they have on one another, and pays homage to the spirit and integrity of this studio.
